POOL SERVICE AGREEMENT / TERMS OF SERVICE

This agreement remains in effect until canceled by either party. While we kindly request a 30-day notice, you may cancel at any time.
The purpose of this agreement is to outline the pool and/or spa maintenance services provided by Stars & Stripes Pool Service (SSPS) to you (the CUSTOMER), along with related responsibilities and billing terms. This is not a binding contract.

Terms of Service
​
1. Frequency of Service
Service will be provided weekly unless otherwise agreed upon. While we strive to maintain the same service day each week, SSPS reserves the right to adjust the service day when needed. Customers are encouraged to assist with basic maintenance between visits, including:

Emptying skimmer baskets and pool sweep bags

Netting visible debris
Failure to remove debris may lead to unbalanced chemistry and additional service charges.

2. Filtration Requirement
To ensure proper water circulation and maintain water clarity, the pool’s filtration system must run a minimum of 6 hours per day during the summer months. Inadequate circulation can lead to water imbalance, algae growth, and additional charges to correct these issues.

3. Inclement Weather
During rain or severe weather, partial services may be performed. This includes chemical adjustments and emptying baskets. Full cleanings may not be possible. If any service is rendered, you will be billed as normal. Fall leaf drop may overwhelm skimmers and cleaners. CUSTOMER participation in debris removal is essential to avoid water imbalance and strain on equipment. During heavy debris periods, spotless water is not guaranteed, and we ask you allow up to 3 weeks for full cleanup.

4. Holiday Schedule
SSPS observes the following holidays and will not perform service on:

Veterans Day

The day before, the day of, and the day after Thanksgiving

The week of Christmas through New Year's Day
We adjust chemicals in advance to cover missed visits. Service fees remain unchanged.
On all other holidays (e.g., Memorial Day, Independence Day), chemical and basket-only service will be performed.

5. Aggressive Pets
Aggressive pets must be secured during service visits. If a pet is deemed a safety risk, service will be skipped or rescheduled and billed as normal.

6. Chemical Use
Included chemicals: chlorine (liquid & tabs), muriatic acid, and sodium bicarb.
Additional chemicals needed due to leaks, aged water, or imbalance will be added to your invoice.
Each spring, a PoolRx Mineral Pod will be automatically added during your filter cleaning for enhanced algae prevention:

Blue (up to 20,000 gallons): $85

Black (up to 30,000 gallons): $100

7. Salt Pools
Salt is not included in regular service. Pool-grade salt is billed at $16 per bag and only added after testing your salt levels.

8. Gate Access
Locked gates or blocked access will result in a skipped visit. SSPS must have unhindered access on your scheduled service day. Provide lock combinations or spare keys if needed.

9. Pool Covers
Automatic Covers:

CUSTOMER must remove water/debris prior to our visit.

If not clear, SSPS will not open the cover. Chemicals may be adjusted via the skimmer and baskets emptied.
Solar Covers:
​

Must be removed before service.
-
If not removed, a chemical/basket service only will be performed, and you will be charged as normal.
Cover pumps are available from SSPS for an added fee if needed.

10. Filter Cleaning
Filters are cleaned twice annually at $90 per unit (plus parts if needed). Additional cleanings may be required based on water conditions. Notification will be provided for off-schedule cleanings.

11. Repairs
Repairs under $100 may be completed without prior authorization. Repairs exceeding $100 require customer approval. Polaris parts are stocked and replaced as needed. Out-of-stock items will be communicated.

12. Pricing & Service Rates
Monthly service charges are listed above. Additional work (e.g., repairs or debris recovery) is billed at a minimum of $120 per hour. Rates are subject to change without notice.

13. Invoicing & Payment Terms

Monthly service invoices are generated on the final service day of the month or the day after.

Payment is due within 21 days.

Repairs or special jobs are due upon completion.

Payments accepted: Check, Cash, Credit/Debit, ACH, PayPal/Venmo.

Credit card autopay is charged the day invoices are issued. Contact us to enroll.

14. Late Fees & Collections

A $20 late fee will apply to invoices 5 days past due.

Accounts over 60 days past due may be sent to collections.

CUSTOMER is responsible for ensuring payment is delivered on time, including third-party bill pay.
15. Power Outages
SSPS is not liable for water quality issues caused by power outages (e.g., storms, PG&E shutoffs). Additional charges may apply to restore water clarity.

16. Above Ground Spas
Monthly spa service includes balancing and one bottle of spa shock. Extra chemicals are billed as needed. Spa draining and cleaning is offered at $150, recommended twice a year.
Note: We do not perform spa repairs but can refer a specialist.

17. Service Termination
Service may be canceled at any time by either party, with or without notice.
​
18. Liability Disclaimer
SSPS is not responsible for damage due to:

Nature, vandalism, misuse, or customer negligence

Chemical performance (unless sold by SSPS)
-
Water level mismanagement
-
Failure to follow recommendations
Failure to run your pool filtration system for at least 6 hours per day during summer months voids chemical guarantees and may result in additional charges to correct water issues. We recommend 9am - 4pm / 5pm.

19. Changes to Terms
